چکیده
Connections between the principle of least action and optimal control are explored with a view to describing trajectories energy conserving systems, subject temporal boundary conditions, as solutions corresponding systems characteristics equations on arbitrary time horizons. Motivated by relaxation stationary for longer horizons, due loss convexity functional, problems is considered. In characterizing attendant controls, generalized velocity trajectories, an auxiliary problem posed respect characteristic system interest. Using this problem, it shown that controls rendering functional horizons have state feedback representation, via verification theorem, consistent short An example provided illustrate application simple mass-spring system.

Exploiting Symmetry in SMT Problems
Methods exploiting problem symmetries have been very successful in several areas including constraint programming and SAT solving. We here present a technique to enhance the performance of SMTsolvers by detecting symmetries in the input formulas and use them to prune the search space of the SMT algorithm. This technique is based on the concept of (syntactic) invariance by permutation of constan...
متن کاملExploiting Multiple Action Types in Recommender Systems
Implicit feedback recommender systems provide personalized suggestions for items that are predicted to be of interest to the user, by collecting online users’ activity and inferring from it users’ preferences. While the state-of-the-art models are built by employing observations of user actions of one single type, the usage of multiple action types enables to observe more information and to bui...
متن کاملExploiting Source Non Stationary and Coloration in Blind Source Separation
A new method for blind sources separation of instantaneous mixtures is developed. It exploits both the spectral and time and diversity of the sources and is based on the Gaussian mutual information. As a result, it uses only second order statistics and can be efficiently implemented through a joint diagonalization algorithm. Simulation result illustrates the good performance of the method.
متن کاملExploiting Dominance in Three Symmetric Problems
Symmetry breaking has led to huge improvements in search performance, and has recently been the subject of considerable research. The related concept of dominance is even more powerful than symmetry, yet it has been relatively unused in Constraint Programming. This paper describes previously unexploited dominances for three wellstudied symmetric problems. Experiments show the benefit of adding ...
متن کاملThe Principle of Stationary Action and Numerical Methods for N-Body Problems*
Two-point boundary-value problems for conservative systems are studied in the context of the stationary action principle. In particular, we consider the case where the initial boundary condition is the system position, and the terminal boundary condition may be a combination of position and velocity data. The emphasis is on the N -body problem under gravitation. When the duration is sufficientl...
